Bio

Travis Warner is an interdisciplinary artist, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics in his practice. Born in Omaha NE, he currently resides in Chicago having just graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA. While drawing inspiration from tools, antiques and other midwestern imagery, Travis employs humor and irony in contrast with more serious issues that are inextricably linked to the rural midwest. Recently Travis has been exploring themes related to the working class. Embracing both skills used by the working class and artistic expertise, Travis blurs the boundaries between a trade and art by combining techniques and materials from both fields. Exhibitions include Bemis Center, Omaha, NE; School of the Art Institute of Chicago Galleries, Chicago, IL. Hexx Gallery, Chicago, IL. Jackson Junge Gallery, Chicago, IL.
